The DBA / Data Architect will be responsible for the design, documentation, execution, and maintenance of Jobs2Web data strategy through the management of data assets and data architecture.

Specifically, the DBA / Data Architect role will have impact through these responsibilities:

• Manage production, development, and reporting databases across the organization.
• Apply principles, theories, and concepts to analyzing and modeling data in order to promote enterprise-wide sharing and management of data assets.
• Design, enhance and maintain a data warehouse.
• Create normalized data models from business requirements and coordinate changes with application developers.
• Provide guidance to the development team in complying with data and technology standards and design best practices.
• Essential experience in managing data privacy and meeting relevant industry compliance standards.
• Perform estimation and capacity planning to accommodate rapid database growth.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Oversee database maintenance activities with an external hosting provider.
• Meet on-demand reporting needs of business users.
• Provide support to the Help Desk in issue analysis and resolution.
• Actively participate in initiatives that define and implement the vision and objectives of Jobs2Web.

Desired Qualifications and Competencies:

• Expertise in Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 Enterprise database administration. PostgreSQL and Linux experience a plus.
• Expertise in designing and creating tables, views, triggers, and complex stored procedures, functions, indexes, and other database objects.
• Proficient in use of data modeling tools and techniques.
• Experience in setting up, optimizing, and maintaining replication.
• Experience in extracting and transforming data using SSIS and BCP.
• Experience in designing and maintaining a data warehouse and supporting ETL processes.
• Proficient in use of index Tuning Wizard, SQL Profiler, and Windows Performance Monitor for monitoring and tuning server performance.
• Consistently demonstrates strong team and individual performance.
• Effective written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Builds positive and effective relationships with individuals both internal and external to the organization.
• Practical knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Displays capacity for a fast paced work environment.

Work Environment:

• The work environment is a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.
• Nature of the work involved may necessitate occasional evenings or weekends in order to meet department goals.

Education:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree with 2+ years of related professional experience or non-degreed with 4+ years related professional experience.
